This software is essentially an image resizer. It can handle several image formats besides TIFF, such as BMP, PNG, JPG etc.
Batch TIFF Resizer Lite is able to resize and convert single and multi pageTIFF, BMP, PNG and JPEG images to TIFF, JPEG files. It is also able to split multipage TIFF files into individual pages. Quite often you get into a situation where a whole lot of images need to be converted to a particular size. Getting this done individually is quite a chore. Instead, a batch processor like this tool can handle the resizing of a large number of images in a single process. The tool also does conversion between formats. Since it handles single and multi-pages TIFF image formats it can be used to store scanned documents such as architecture plans, contracts, invoices etc. This can thus be a very useful tool for document archival and distribution.
The simple, almost spare interface is fairly intuitive. A large area is given over to creating the batch list. The controls are listed on the left of the list and then there`s a preview area. The preview area can help you determine if the conversion created any problem by looking at the before and after images that are being processed. Color depth can be changed, resolution can be changed, some amount of image processing (such as sharpening of image) can be done. Once the process is started, there are some interesting buttons that can control the process much like a music player. You have process, pause, resume etc. controls. Work involving large number of files that need to resized or changed in format to JPEG, JPEG 2000 and BMP images can use this tool very effectively. The tool supports Unicode characters to be used in file name/path.
